Troop Committee:

The Troop committee is an organization that provides support for the Troop 80. All parents of active Scouts are welcome to Committee Meetings. The committee gives adults who are unable to participate in the outdoors Scouting program a way to serve in an important support role. The Committee has several key functions:

To assist the Scoutmaster in providing a sound Scouting Program.
To help the Charted Organization Representative (COR) select the best possible person for Scoutmaster and Committee Chair.
To provide adults who will serve on Boards of Review for Scouts advancing in rank.
To approve and support the Troop regarding policies and events.
To participate in the major financial decisions that effect the Camping and Advancement programs.

The committee meets at 7:30 PM on the second Monday of each month in the Bill Clarke Scout House. All parents of Troop 80 Scouts are invited and encouraged to attend the meetings. The Committee Chair and Scoutmaster are selected by the COR as needed. The other Committee positions are filled by volunteers and approved by the Committee Chair. Members of the committee are encouraged to be registered Leaders with the District Scout Office. This requires approval from the Committee Chair and COR.The Troop Roster lists the Current Committee Officers.
