Participation:

In order to be a member of Troop 80 a Scout must pay his registration fees, monthly dues, and attend meetings. A member who fails to attend regular meetings and/or fails to pay his monthly dues, forfeits his privilege of participating in Troop 80 activities. A Scout who fails to attend at least 50% of the weekly troop meetings in the six months prior to an election looses his vote for that election. A Scout must participate in at least 50% of the weekly meetings in order to be eligible to attend Winter Camp, Summer Camp, or High Adventure as a member of Troop 80.
Leadership Participation: Troop 80 is a boy led Troop. When a Scout assumes the responsibility of a leadership position his level of participation in Troop activities increases. He will be expected to perform a great deal of his leader's duties outside of the normal Scout meeting. Successful leadership experience is a requirement for all the upper Scout ranks. The Scoutmaster determines whether or not the participation of a Scout in a leadership position meets the requirement for the advancement.
Scouts must attend 50% of scheduled weekly meetings, 50% of campouts, and 50% of special events/service projects to be eligible for a Troop level leadership position. Scouts who wish to stand for election to Senior Patrol Leader must complete a Scoutmaster's Conference prior to the election.
Leaving Troop 80: There are many reasons a Scout might leave Troop 80. A Scout may move onto the Explorer Post, or his family may move and determine that our meeting place and time are no longer convenient. Before a Scout leaves the Troop he should schedule a Scoutmaster's conference. Transferring registration to another Troop is fairly easy and will help a boy to continue to participate in Scouting.
