Boy Scouts of America (BSA) was founded February 8, 1910.

The National Organization is divided into Councils. Troop 80 is part of the Sam Houston Area Council.

Councils are divided into Districts. The Sharpstown area is part of the Golden Arrow District.

Each Boy Scouts organization is "chartered" through an existing organization. Boy Scout Troop 80, Cub Scout Pack 80, and Venturing Crew 80 are chartered through Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Church.

Although these Boy Scout organizations cooperate in many ways they are separate organizations.
