Not all items will be used on all trips. Scouts will be notified
what special items must be brought on a campout. Questions about
what should be taken should be addressed to the Scout's patrol
leader. Parents are advised not to buy camping gear until they
have had a chance to learn the Troop 80 "style" of camping.
Personal equipment can be borrowed or rented until you are ready
to buy.
Camping gear can be quite expensive so careful shopping is important.
Unless parents already have the appropriate camping gear, they
should shop around and get assistance for the items such as sleeping
bag, backpack, hiking boots, etc. The Troop Leaders will be happy
to assist you in getting the best values. Some used equipment
may be available through the Troop Committee. Please contact the
Scoutmaster or one of his assistants to see what is available.
