Troop 80 Committee Meeting

February 21, 2005 - 7:30 PM

Attendees:

Eric Johnson, Ken Martin, Luis Velazquez, Ben Villalon, Leon Howard, Carol Clarkston, P. Justin Schramm Sr., Pat Barrett, Boroskie Richard, Phyllis Richard, Charlie Lillja, Mark Sulzbach, Stephen Hupp, Hunter Price and Sherry Hu.

Secretary - Sherry Hu:

• Presented 01/10/05 Troop Committee Minutes - Committee Members approved and passed.

Treasurer - Leon Howard:

•  Presented Financial Statements for 8/2004 - 02/21/2005.

•  Provided Scouts camping credits schedule.

•  Presented dues for summer camp - El Rancho Cima.

•  CIMA Camping Reserve - $450 will be move to KoC Equipment Reserve per Mr. Schramm - KoC representative.

Membership Chair - Carol Clarkston:

•  There are 35 boys registered.

•  Troop 80 T-shirts prices: small $9, medium $10, Large $11.

Scoutmaster - Luis Velazquez:

•  Having Scoutmaster conferences- 3 Star to Life and 2 scheduled.

•  Patrol is the heart of the troop:

• Need to get things done e.g. patrol corner, game time and organization.
• Patrol Advisor need to work more with the patrol.
• Friday 7:30 will meet with the new patrol (02/25/05). Conference with the new boys. Will use Eric's classroom for the parents' orientation.

•  Troop Master software - Advancement Chair should send reports and updates for Scout's Merit Badges/history report. Bill Farrell s willing to do presentation.

•  Issues:

•  New Patrol Leader needs to call SPL for questions - can coordinate with fellow patrol -need information to communicate.

• Patrol Advisor need to attend PLC meeting and take some notes.

e) Tyler agreed to be the Old Goats Patrol Dad.

Committee Chair - Mr. Johnson:

•  Brazos Bend is full for Arrow of Light - looking for new venue.

•  Venture Crew has Kayaking camp out on 04/09/05 - older boys are invited.

•  Will re-charter electronically.

New Business:

• Scout Fair, Scout Booth and Scout Fair Tickets.
• Pat Barrett:
• Scout fair tickets $10 - worth $250 in coupons.
• Can sell in Kroger or Krispy Kreme in 2 weekends - wear class A uniform.
• Scout Fair Coordinators will distribute the tickets to Patrol Advisors, they will then hand it out to the boys.
• Tickets turn-in date 02/16/05-03/21/05 for triple coupons.
• Patrol should contact the location to sell.
• Patrols can have a chart for selling performance.
• Open positions:
• Chair for Bazaar Booth - Boroskie Richard.
• Friends of Scouting -
• Scout Fair Ticket Coordinators - Mary Weisenburger, Yvette Villalon, Susan Krus and Sherry Hu.

 

•  Presented his Eagle project to the Troop Committee:

•  Will construct a perimeter pathway at Westside High School on 03/15/05 (Saturday) at 8:30 a.m.
