Troop 80 Committee Meeting
October 11, 2004 - 7:00 PM

Committee Chair - Mr. Johnson:
Presented 09/13/04 Troop Committee Minutes - Committee Members approved and seconded.
Mr. Shannon resigned as Troop 80 Scoutmaster. Ken Martin is Scoutmaster.
Adult Training - make sure adults get the basic training - dates and what.
Merit Badge Training - Wednesday 10/13/04.
Troop 80 website needs to be updated (with new pictures).
New Business:
1) Open positions:-
a) Outdoor Program Development (Asst. Scout Master or Committee position?) Bring resource for Outdoor Program. Scoutmaster to decide his needs.
b) Friends of Scouting Chair
c) Adult Trainer
2) Scout Master - yearly review; 3 year term limitation. - will table until next meeting re: term limit.
3) Make sure to train replacements.
4) Calendar - need to do some tweaking - take some responsibilities from older boys and let the younger boys to learn also.
g) News from Pack 80: New Committee Chair - Susan Krus, new Cub Master - Ken Karr
Scoutmaster - Mr. Martin:
Will have a meeting with the Patrol Advisor, Patrol Leaders and Asst. Patrol Leaders.
Will provide job descriptions to the boys' responsibilities.
Carol Clarkston's mother passed away. Mr. Johnson suggested - send sympathy card.
Thanks everyone for trusting him to become Troop 80 Scout Master.
Need adults volunteer to consult with the boys to do their positions and responsibilities.
Need help who are good in any area.

Advancement Chair - Diane Wooten:
Have Asst. Advancement Chair - Yvette Villalon
New neighbor across Scout House - for safety reasons; requesting for everyone not to park around the curve from the corner all the way to the second driveway. Will provide information in the mail box.
Volunteered to talk to Fr, Limani regarding AC and refrigerator problem.
Popcorn Kernellette/Pack 80 Committee Chair - Susan Krus:
Prize for top 3 highest sellers.
Diane - suggested award not cost much. 1 st prize - Plaque and get to pick a tent on a camp out - Mr. Hupp seconded and everyone approved.
Mr. Wooten volunteered to make the plaque.
Mr. Martin - Need to let the boys know about the award.
100% participation - Blue Bell will provide Ice Cream.
Pack 80 Webelos Badge - successful. Mrs. Rashard offered to help the Webelos.
Mrs. Villalon:
Need to buy Scout House supplies, e.g. paper towels, toilet paper, etc.
Organize supplies.
Use cans money.
Mr. Mathews:
High Adventure event 11/12/04 - 11/14/04: age 14 and above, cost $60. Need to know by 10/19/04.
Mr. Stephenson:
a) Camp out this Friday 10/15/04 - short of time for transportation arrangements.
Mr. Martin - no Scout Master report, no Medical Forms, no chuck box report. Will let the boys decide on Tuesday.
Mr. Howard - will register trailer in Carol's garage. Kyle's trailer registration is fine.
Pink Panther Patrol Advisor - Mr. Mitchell:
a) Had a meeting with the patrol - changed "War Games" to "Survivor".
Want to move cycling for 11/04.
Red Hot Scorpion Patrol Advisor - Mr. Velazquez:
Cycling deposit $60 - Stephen F. Austin. - 11/04 cycling would be good.
Scorpion Patrol - boys working a lot of merit badges.
Has strong patrol.
Will discuss library next meeting. Wants to thank everyone who responded with suggestion.
Ram Patrol Advisor - Dr. Villalon:
High productivity; getting merit badges.
Quarter Master - Charlie Lilja:
Closet clean up with the Quarter Master.
Will put shelves in the closet.
Still actively involved in International Scouts.
Boys Scouts trip to Japan - need a group of 7 to 15 boys to learn Chiba, Japan; age 13 or older; cost $1,500/person - will also do fundraiser.
